Just a little FYI about me…
I adore hearts! And this little fetish of mine began long ago when I was a small child. Later in life, it morphed to the point at which I wanted to get married on Valentine’s Day but unfortunately we fell short of that by 2 days.
But I like to pretend that we did anyways:)
So with that being said, if there is anyway that I can incorporate hearts in an upscale way for my decor, then I’m on it:)
These Moss Covered Hearts were super easy and totally fit my budget!
Here’s what I used:
Paper Mache Heart $.89
Bag of Sheet Moss $2.99
Glue gun, ribbon, and Tim Holtz craft escutcheon (all of which I had).
I’ve seen so many versions of these moss-covered crafts, and they’re all adorable!
I wanted to be able to do this craft last week for all of you, but we had a pretty rough week with Audrey. So I thought I’d throw a couple of these crafts together for this week.
The next one I did is another Pinterest favorite!
You know when you walk into the front of your Target store, and you see all of these great bargain crafts & goodies for any occasion? Well they had a set of 6 wooden blocks for $14.99 so I jumped at the chance to finally be able to make a set for myself!
I created them to be neutral in color so that whatever hair-brain idea I come up with in the future for Valentine’s Day, they’ll blend nicely with other items:)
I started out by staining the blocks with a color called Fruitwood. Once dry, I painted them with a custom color of ASCP that can be found here. They were then sanded to create distressing, and then stenciled with brown edges and lettering using Alcohol Inks. If you’re not aware of what Alcohol Inks are, you can see that here.
Have any of you seen this heart at Pier 1??? I saw this online and thought my jaw dropped to the floor!
I’m pretty sure it did:)
So of course I did what any girl would do in my situation with a coupon…I must go see this in person!
As my husband and I were driving to the store I was day-dreaming about the possibilities…
Was it really as cool as it looked online?
Was it really that big?
Where would I hang it?
How awesome is that…a heart…and we’re getting ready to celebrate our 25th on February 16th!
Needless to say…she came home:)
I hope you all have a great week!
